We start this blog as people that like wine but not as experts in the field, it´s not our aim to reach the most knowledgeable people in the wine world… we want to enjoy wine as much as we enjoy live. So, anyone will be welcome to learn with us a little bit more about wine and its tasty varieties.
So, let´s get started. How it all started? We all know wine it´s been one of man´s favourite drinks through history. Who had not heard about Roman emperors getting a bit inebriate drinking their famous wine with honey? However the history of wine goes further back in our civilization. Actually, some studies point out that there is evidence of wine production as early as 8000-6000 BC. These first producers where found in Europe, in a wine producing region, nowadays Georgia and Armenia region.
Maybe you heard a lot of stories about King Tutankhamen and the Ancient Egypt. But did you know that in the King´s Tutankhamen tomb 36 wine amphorae were discovered? This give evidence that also in the Ancient Egypt wine was a valuable drink.
As we mentioned before wine was also popular during the Roman Empire and they extended their production in several regions of Europe, later on the Roman Catholic Church enforced its consumption in masses and religious acts. So, as you see wine production is not a new topic.
